Paul “Dr. J” Jacobson, M.D.

Dr. J has a specialized interest in the hybridization of Child & Adolescent Behavioral Medicine and e-Sports Psychiatry incorporating high level wellness fitness therapeutic assignments as non-pharmacological behavioral medicine strategies for difficult to treat dysfunctional youth populations.

An early pioneer, Dr. J was involved with applied clinical research for the emerging Internet Gaming Disorder consideration as a condition deserving further study within the DSM-5 rubric. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. J implemented a highly immersive advanced technology e-Sports training studio & flagship pilot program in West Palm Beach, FL. Several of Dr. J’s young clientele have achieved championship status in multi-player, cross-platform venues while simultaneously improving academic performance and behavioral conformances.

Dr. J has expertise in Occupational Behavioral Medicine and on a limited referral basis serves as a concierge consultant with small and large companies facilitating market dominance, resiliency, and improvements in internal realities and external perceptions. Specialized training and therapeutic activities in leadership enhancement, sales & marketing, and customer service quality improvement has been well received in a variety of industries. One of Dr. J’s landmark cases with a happy landing, a leading airline ranked last among major carriers in customer service by the Wall Street Journal in 2011 reversed a declining trend and was subsequently recognized as the World’s #1 Airline and considered one of the world’s greatest companies by the readers of Executive Travel. 

Upon completion of his graduate medical education, Dr. J contracted with Martin Marietta Orlando Aerospace (now Lockheed Martin) (1984-1985) as a Senior Management Development Specialist in the Department of Management Training and Organizational Development. He was an early pioneer in the development of innovative wellness programs for executive management and company personnel. Capitalizing on his occupational behavioral medicine expertise, Dr. J assisted in the development of the MMOA’s ‘charm school’ during the rise of the defense contractor’s rapid growth and expansion with the Stars Wars Strategic Defense Initiative under the Reagan Administration. Dr. J was a recipient of the coveted Chairman’s Award at the Annual Martin Marietta Corporate Recognition Night event representing his department.

Shortly after the 9-11 tragedy during the Bush Administration, Dr. J served as Medical Director on a locum tenens assignment for the massive new employee hire venture during the startup of the Transporation Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security. Based at the Palm Springs, CA airport, Dr. J provided oversight and quality assurance for his multi-disciplinary team of nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, physical therapists, medical technologists, and human resource liaisons. The TSA hiring blitz is the fastest and largest governmental agency ramp-up in the history of the United States.

Dr. J entered private practice in 1984. He was the Founder and Director of an outpatient state-of-the-art Sports Behavioral Medicine clinic utilizing MedX core spinal technologies and Cybex exercise devices specializing in muscle testing and rehabilitation in partnership with Casselberry Physical Therapy and BALLY Fitness Center in Winter Park, FL

On an inpatient patient basis, Dr. J evaluated and treated behaviorally challenged children and adolescents while maintaining active medical staff privileges at multiple Central Florida single specialty freestanding and medical-surgical hospitals. Dr. J was the youngest physician to achieve Honorary Status medical staff privileges at Florida Hospital (now Advent Health).

Dr. J has consulted with several specialized programs for at-risk youth including Palm Beach County based Multilingual Psychotherapy Centers and Metro Orlando based Big Bear Behavioral Health / PsychAmerica, SAAFE Behavioral, Empower / Intervention Services, Devereux Florida Treatment Network, APNS, The House Next Door, Angels for Kids, and Hillsborough County based Tampa Bay Academy. 

Additionally, Dr. J served as the Mental Health Authority for a host of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice residential commitment programs including Umatilla Academy for Girls, Florida Institute for Girls, Kingsley Juvenile Residential Center for Girls, Leon F. Stewart-Hal S. Marchman Center and the multi-year deemed status award-winning Volusia Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Dr. J held and has prosecuted several United States Patent & Trademark Office registered trademarks including Dr. J’s MagicStars (1992) founded as a therapeutic activity a prosocial youth gang, Dr. J’s MagicStars Gang, comprised of habilitated juvenile delinquent youth that gave back to society by creating & performing innovative positive community service activities. Dr. J’s MagicStars Gang received national recognition having been the subject for featured news articles on current issues with youth gangs. The project received numerous corporate sponsorships for special events by progressive companies including the world’s largest entertainment company and a national company specializing in substance abuse prevention services for Safe Schools under Title IV of the 1984 Improving America’s Schools Act, and the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Act.

An active member of the National Speakers Association and former Toastmasters International regional educational vice-president, Dr. J has served as keynote speaker, workshop leader and master of ceremonies. He has shared the platform at major industry conventions, specialty trade shows, and professional speaking forums on an international level. Dr. J is recognized for his high content, unique and entertaining presentation style. Dr. J has served as a member of the exclusive NSA networking group, “The Speaking Eagles” which is only available for aviators who speak professionally and speakers who address aviation groups. Dr. J is in preparation for his expanding avocational interests as a commercial drone videographer.

Dr. J has served as an on-air media personality and featured talk radio show guest on nationally syndicated Talk Radio and television media sweeps week for NBC affiliate WESH-TV. Dr. J is a featured V-J and voice of LA based LaughMD, a venture that provides short funny comedy videos and fun little movies helping hospitalized patients feel better, lighten mood states and heal faster. LaughMD launched at Ceders-Sinai Hospital and Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles.

As one of the original Founder Members of the RDV Sportsplex in Maitland, FL, Dr. J enjoyed assisting the startup of the innovative venture between RDV Sports, Inc, and Florida Hospital. RDV is a trend setting destination for sports and wellness and the only facility to serve as home to three professional sports teams, NBA’s Orlando Magic, IHL’s Orlando Solar Bears, and the WNBA’s Orlando Miracle. Dr. J was also a founder member and/or active consultant for several Central Florida health-fitness organizations including the Peggy & Phillip B. Crosby Wellness Center in Winter Park, Gainesville Health & Fitness Center, Radison-Justus YMCA Aquatic Center on International Drive, Eurofitness / Lifestyle Family Fitness in Lake Mary, BALLY Fitness in Winter Park, and the LA Fitness network.

Dr. J is Founder, Chairman and CEO of Prevtech Corporation. Company divisions include Prevtech Studios, LaughMD.TV and Dr. J’s private practice activities including concierge consultation services, mastermind groups &  retreats, and bicoastal locum tenens services dually licensed in CA and FL Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in January 2020, Dr. J has performed all clinical services via 100% Tele-Health venues.

Serving as a private investment banking angel investor, Dr. J has been an early adopter of disruptive technologies and has provided seed capitalization for several start-ups and early-stage companies in a variety of industries including biotechnology, financial services, real estate investment trusts, telecommunications, and entertainment segments.

Cultivating a lifelong interest in the creative arts and the digital media genre, Dr. J has created and produced multi-media products including Dr. J’s Bonkers cartoon strips, comic books & posters, animatics and short movies currently featured on his YouTube channel (YouTube search Paul Jacobson MD).

Dr. J is a 2007 graduate of the New York Film Academy studying digital moviemaking. He received continuing education through Full Sail University and Virtual Film School. Dr. J’s inaugural film project: ZING ZEST MEGATHON is an award-winning live action short film that premiered during the NYFA film festival and was showcased at the AMC Pleasure Island big screen / red carpet event in Orlando, FL Dr. J’s animatic short film: DELTA DOOZY was an airline industry documentary piece on passenger customer service quality improvement.

Out of necessity, he is self-taught in the art & science of applied PNI (Psycho-Neuro-Immunology) and has a lifelong commitment to mastering the ability to harness and self-regulate the body’s natural endorphin system and teaching others to do the same. This has proven beneficial in his remarkable survivor story with full recovery, restoration and vitality following an onslaught of medical challenges including stage IV incurable cancer, multiple massive heart attacks, and disabling upper & lower extremity strokes. Dr. J’s story has served as a ‘Beacon of Hope’ high-level wellness inspiration prescription for others. He has written, published, and distributed a unique cancer survivor comic book. This work of art is included in the holdings of the Rosen Library, the official cancer resource center housed at the American Cancer Society national headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Dr. J was an early pioneer in support of COVID-19 booster vaccinations and adjunctive mitigation efforts having conducted an off-label clinical research design protocol using himself as the experiment subject (n of 1). Dr. J received his third Moderna vaccination on July 23,2021 several months preceeding FDA approval.
